Description: Currently our client has a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Developer who has experience working with Maximo applications to join our team. SAOs Technology Group manages the Asset Management Program and supporting
applications (Maximo & PeopleSoft) for State agencies. We are looking for a
Maximo Application Developer that will augment our Asset Management Team. In
this role, we are looking for an individual that has a combination of strong
technical and development skills. This position is responsible for
development, testing, deployment, and support of State of Georgia Asset
Management applications. This position will require you to carry a pager and
be available for rotating off hours support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Ø Develops and maintains customizations in development, test, and production
environments;
Ø Works with functional users to troubleshoot issues in production;
Ø Provides Maximo production support to integrated systems, such as PeopleSoft and J2EE custom interface programs. Troubleshoots and resolves production problems;
Ø Escalates issues with system support, DBAs and SAO management;
Ø Follows prepared test plans and system documentation, to monitor testing for the implementation of system enhancements, modifications, application fixes and new releases of vendor software (Maximo).
Ø Conducts testing of system enhancements, modifications,application updates, fixes and upgrades to ensure software meets vendor and client specifications.
Ø Participates in all phases of testing
Ø Monitors and reports on production outages and statistics.
Ø Assists in providing Tier II (software) support.
Ø Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and tests activities/results.
Ø Provides ongoing maintenance of software through the use of Maximo tools.
Ø Follows established change control procedures for implementing system enhancements,modifications, application updates, fixes and upgrades into the production environment.
Ø Follows SAO standards full life-cycle implementations or upgrades.
Ø Participates in the project planning process with team members. Demonstrates some understanding of the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions for the development and operation of Maximo V6.O.
Ø Adheres to quality standards and procedures.
Ø Will provide on-call support on a rotational basis.
Ø Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Training & Experience:
Associates or Bachelors degree in programming /systems or computer
science, specialized training, certification, or equivalent work experience and 3-5 years experience working with Maximo 5.2
Transportation or higher.Demonstrated ability to make process improvements;
Experience working with relational databases and a solid working knowledge of SQL;
1+ years J2EE programming skills. Demonstrated ability to manage time and work with others to accomplish competing
priorities;
Experience programming in XML;
Thorough knowledge of Maximo Application Design;
Multiple Maximo implementations/upgrades;
Current experience or knowledge with Maximo V6.0,Fleet Assets Technical Writing Skills
Preferred Qualifications: UNIX shell scripts Experience using PL/SQL a plus
